Tile & Stone Floor Care GuideAt SecureStep Flooring, we believe in service after the sale. These guidelines will help you maintain the beauty and durability of your tile or stone flooring.
Regular sweeping or vacuuming removes abrasive dirt and debris that can dull tile surfaces and grout lines. Damp mopping with warm water and a neutral-pH tile cleaner is recommended. Avoid acidic, bleach-based, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage tile finishes and grout.
Never use steel wool, scouring powders, or harsh scrub brushes. For spills or stains, blot promptly with a soft cloth. For tougher spots, use a manufacturer-approved tile or stone cleaner.
Grout lines may require periodic cleaning and resealing to maintain appearance and resist staining. Follow all manufacturer recommendations regarding sealing schedules.
Entrance mats are highly recommended to reduce tracked-in debris. Avoid rubber-backed mats that may discolor tile or stone. Use approved rug pads where necessary to prevent slipping.
Furniture should always have protective pads to prevent cracking or scratching, especially on stone surfaces.
