Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) & Laminate Floor Care Guide

At SecureStep Flooring, we believe in service after the sale. The following care guidelines will help preserve the appearance and performance of your LVP or laminate flooring.

Regular sweeping or vacuuming is essential to remove dirt and grit that can cause surface scratching. Use a vacuum designed for hard floors without a beater bar. Damp mopping with a microfiber mop is acceptable, but floors should never be soaked or flooded. Excess moisture may seep into seams and cause damage.

Avoid abrasive cleaners, waxes, polishes, oil soaps, steam mops, or harsh chemicals. Only use cleaners specifically approved for vinyl or laminate flooring. Steam cleaning is not recommended and may void your warranty.

Spills should be wiped up immediately using a soft cloth. Sticky substances may be removed using a damp cloth and an approved cleaner. Never use steel wool, scouring pads, or buffing machines on these surfaces.

We strongly recommend the use of entry mats to prevent sand, grit, and debris from being tracked onto your flooring. Avoid rubber-backed or latex mats, which may stain or discolor the surface. Always use approved non-slip rug pads.

Protect your flooring by placing felt pads under furniture legs and using floor protectors when moving appliances or heavy furniture.
